Project Engineer – Construction Management NACE Construction | Amman, Jordan We are looking for a Project Engineer – Construction Management to join our team and work within a Construction Management setup representing the Owner and managing projects through specialist subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and designers. The Role This is a project management and coordination-focused position requiring someone who is highly organised, proactive and exceptionally strong in follow-up. The successful candidate will be involved across design coordination, tendering, procurement, subcontractor management, technical submissions and project planning, helping ensure that the information, decisions, materials and contractors required for construction are ready when needed. The role requires continuous coordination between the Owner, local and international designers, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and NACE’s internal teams. An architectural engineering background is preferred, although candidates from other engineering disciplines with strong Construction Management, project coordination and technical administration experience will also be considered. Key Responsibilities • Coordinate between international architects/designers and local consultants, following up on comments, requirements and decisions through issuance of final approved construction drawings. • Follow up with contractors, subcontractors and suppliers on preparation and submission of Shop Drawings, technical submittals and supporting documentation, coordinating comments and resubmissions through final approval. • Prepare and organise tender packages, including drawings, specifications, scopes of work, particular requirements and other technical documentation required for specialist subcontractor packages. • Coordinate with the tendering and procurement teams through tender issuance, technical clarifications, contractor queries and evaluation. • Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to specialist contractors and suppliers, providing the drawings, quantities and technical information required for accurate pricing. • Follow up with contractors and suppliers to obtain quotations within the required timeframe, resolve outstanding pricing information and organise quotations for estimates and commercial evaluation. • Technically review contractor and supplier proposals, identifying scope gaps, exclusions, discrepancies, conflicts and missing items prior to award. • Manage and follow up RFIs and technical queries between contractors, designers and consultants, ensuring that required decisions and responses are obtained without delaying the works. • Follow up procurement activities, suppliers and long-lead materials and equipment, including technical approvals, samples and information required prior to purchase orders. • Review the project programme and short-term Look-Ahead schedules from the perspective of design readiness, tendering, subcontractor appointment, procurement and material availability. • Participate in meetings involving the Owner, local and international designers, consultants and contractors, documenting decisions and actively following up actions through closure. • Coordinate with engineers and other internal teams on interconnected work packages, resolving interfaces and outstanding requirements so that contractors and site teams can proceed without avoidable delays. • Follow up project close-out requirements including As-Built Drawings, warranties, O&M documentation and other handover documents, as applicable.
