Energy Oasis is hiring: Solar Design Engineer 📍 Amman, Jordan | Full-time Energy Oasis is looking for a Solar Design Engineer to join our Engineering Design team. Job Summary The Solar Design Engineer prepares technical designs for solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for industrial projects. This covers grid-tied (On-Grid), off-grid (Off-Grid) and hybrid systems with energy storage. The role covers the full design cycle, from site and load assessment through to issuing drawings, engineering calculations and bills of quantities. All work follows approved technical standards and Jordanian regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Prepare preliminary and detailed PV designs (On-Grid, Off-Grid and Hybrid) for industrial facilities. Conduct site surveys and analyse industrial load profiles and electricity bills to size systems. Run energy yield simulations in PVsyst, including shading and loss analysis. Select and size modules, inverters, batteries, cables, protection devices and mounting structures. Produce single-line diagrams, layouts and cable routing drawings in AutoCAD. Perform voltage drop, cable sizing, protection, earthing and lightning protection calculations. Prepare BOQs and technical specifications to support sales proposals. Prepare grid connection applications for distribution companies, in line with the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC) requirements. Support the site team during installation, testing and commissioning, and issue as-built drawings. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Minimum of five (5) years of practical experience in solar PV system design. Valid membership of the Jordan Engineers Association. Proficiency in PVsyst and AutoCAD; knowledge of HelioScope or SketchUp is an advantage. Good knowledge of IEC standards, EMRC regulations and the requirements of Jordanian electricity distribution companies.
